Visitor KYC (know your visitor) means verifying who someone is before you grant access — applying the same 'verify, don't assume' logic of customer KYC to the front desk.
How it differs from a logbook
A logbook records a self-declared name. Visitor KYC checks that claim against an authoritative source, so the record reflects a verified identity — not a hopeful one. See logging vs verification.
How it works in India
- Verify against Aadhaar — online (AUA/KUA OTP) or offline (OVSE).
- Pull issuer-signed documents from DigiLocker on consent.
- Score the name and match a live selfie (Live Face) to the verified photo.
- Keep a consent-based record — without storing the Aadhaar number.
Where it's used
Anywhere identity matters at entry — plants, BFSI branches, pharma, data centres, government. It's delivered by Aadhaar visitor verification in Certopact Entry. General information, not legal advice.
