If you already run a visitor management system, a contractor app or an onboarding flow, you probably don't want to replace it just to add identity verification. You want to keep your UX and slot the verification in. That's exactly what a verification API is for — and offline Aadhaar (OVSE) is one of the most useful checks to add in India.
Why OVSE, and why via API
Offline verification (OVSE) validates a UIDAI-signed artefact — a secure QR or Aadhaar Paperless Offline e-KYC — with no OTP and no live UIDAI call. Delivered as an API, it means your system captures the artefact and calls one endpoint to get a verified result, without you building your own UIDAI integration. See what is OVSE? for the framework.
The integration, at a glance
- Your system collects the visitor's details and the offline artefact (QR scan or Paperless e-KYC).
- You call the OVSE endpoint with that artefact and the visitor's consent.
- Certopact validates UIDAI's signature and returns a verified result — name, photo, a match — with the Aadhaar number never returned or stored.
- Your system continues its own flow: approve, badge, admit, onboard.
An illustrative call
The exact contract is in the API reference; illustratively, you POST the artefact to an OVSE endpoint and receive a JSON result with the verification outcome and the attributes you need. The point is that the heavy lifting — signature validation, no-number-stored handling — happens on Certopact's side.
Keep it consent-first and minimal
Capture the visitor's consent before you verify, request only the attributes you need, and don't persist what you don't — aligned with the DPDP Act and visitor data. This is general information, not legal advice; confirm your obligations with your own counsel.
Add OVSE with Certopact Verify
Certopact Verify offers the OVSE API (and Face Liveness) so you can add source-verified identity to your own system — Certopact provides the technology to run offline Aadhaar verification. If you'd rather not build the UX at all, Certopact Entry delivers the same verification with screens and workflows.
