What Live Face is
When you verify a visitor against Aadhaar or DigiLocker, the signed record includes their photo. Live Face captures a quick selfie at check-in and compares it to that photo, returning a match score. It ties the verified identity to the actual person, so a borrowed or stolen credential doesn't get someone through the door.
Why it matters
- Stops credential sharing — the document and the face have to match.
- Raises assurance for high-risk sites without slowing entry much.
- Adds a visual record to the visit log alongside the verified identity.
How it works at check-in
- The visitor is verified against Aadhaar (online or offline) or DigiLocker.
- A live selfie is captured at the kiosk or device.
- The selfie is matched to the photo in the signed record, with a score.
- High-confidence matches pass; the rest escalate to a person to review.
Privacy by design
Face matching is consent-based and purpose-limited — used to confirm the visit, not to build a database. Combined with the fact that the full Aadhaar number is never stored, it fits the expectations of the DPDP Act.
